Sandringham Breakwater and Reef

A very sheltered site when North East winds blow. Park in the Jetty Road carpark Parking is metered so make sure you get a ticket.  Walk down the ramp onto the beach, you can take two routes. The first is along the outside of the breakwater it will take you approximately 40 minutes to get the end of the breakwater where there is the remains of a small wreck the “Francis Henry” . The rock wall is a home for a variety of small fish and Invertebrates. Look out for fishing lines and boat traffic. The second route is to head East out from the beach to the reef, head up or down the reef and explore the undercuts on the western side. Plenty of Fish at this site, take your time looking under ledges as you may see a Cuttlefish . Be mindful of boat traffic and tow a dive flag

Underwater ,we are all the same…..
